Terry Miller
Technical Director
Terry Miller began his affiliation with SRO Associates in 2001 when he installed scenery for SeaWorld San Antonio's production Viva!, co-designed by Karen Miller, at White Whale and Dolphin Stadium. Written and directed by Eddy Snell, the show broke attendance records. Later that summer, construction of a Halloween attraction at SeaWorld San Antonio again brought him together with SRO Associates. "It has been (please, excuse the pun) a roller coaster ride ever since." As Technical Director for SRO Associates, Mr. Miller has been instrumental in the planning, construction and installation of scenery for SeaWorld San Antonio, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Hersheypark, Ralph Lauren stores and much more.
Mr. Miller grew up in an entertainment oriented family involved in music, theater and dance. He began his professional career at age sixteen as a light board operator, spotlight operator, stage hand and orchestra cellist at San Antonio Little Theater, now known as The San Pedro Playhouse. He has held various positions including photographer and videographer, for numerous theatrical productions, sports events and private parties. Following a three year stint as a photographer for a motorcycle racing team based in southern Mexico, he returned to San Antonio and his roots in theater.
For twelve years, Mr. Miller worked as a freelance scenic carpenter and theatrical technician. He has built and installed scenery at most local colleges and universities, San Antonio Festival, San Antonio Shakespeare Festival, Texas Military Institute, ARTSA, USAA and decor work at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. He also spent ten Christmas seasons as stage manager in charge of boats for Rivercenter San Antonio's Christmas pageant presented on the San Antonio River. During this time he was also Technical Director for the Josephine Theatre, where he designed scenery and/or lighting for many of the productions.
In addition to managing the construction of multiple, often simultaneous projects produced by SRO Associates for shipment to our clients, Mr. Miller serves as "Ranch Manager" at our 8 acre studio located in the beautiful Texas hill country.
